It is famous for the Jagannath Temple, dedicated to Lord Jagannath (a form of Lord Krishna). Attractions: The temple is renowned for its annual Rath Yatra (chariot festival), where the deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are paraded through the streets in massive chariots. The temple's architecture features intricate carvings and a distinctive spire. Cultural Heritage: Puri is also known for its vibrant festivals, rich traditions, and unique cuisine, including the famous "Mahaprasad" offered in the temple. The town is a hub for spiritual seekers and tourists alike, with beautiful beaches and a rich history tied to the Bhakti movement. Gangasagar Significance: Gangasagar is located at the confluence of the Ganges River and the Bay of Bengal. It is an important pilgrimage site, particularly during the Makar Sankranti festival when thousands gather for a holy dip to cleanse sins. Attractions: The main attraction is the Sagar Island, where the Kapil Muni Ashram is located. Pilgrims come to pay homage and perform rituals for their ancestors. Itenarary
Day 1
ARRIVAL BHUWANESHWAR AIRPORT/PURI RAILWAY STATION
Upon arrival in Puri, proceed to the hotel and complete the check-in formalities. After lunch, visit the sacred Lord Jagannath Temple for darshan. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Puri.
Day 2
PURI LOCAL & KONARK
After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour to the magnificent Konark Sun Temple, the revered Sakshi Gopal Temple, and the scenic Chandrabhaga Beach. After exploring these attractions, return to Puri. Spend the evening at your leisure, relaxing and enjoying the serene ambiance of the famous Golden Beach. Overnight stay in Puri.
Day 3
PURI - BHUWANESHWAR
After breakfast, check out from the hotel at 8:00 AM and proceed to Bhubaneswar. Upon arrival, visit Dhauli, the sacred Lingaraj Temple, and the Dhawalgiri Shanti Stupa. Later, check in to your hotel in Bhubaneswar for an overnight stay.
Day 4
BHUWANESHWAR - KOLKATTA
Early morning, depart for Kolkata by train at 6:00 AM. Arrive in Kolkata at 12:40 PM and check in to the hotel. After lunch, visit the famous Kalighat Kali Temple for darshan. Later, enjoy free time for shopping and exploring the local markets. Overnight stay at Kolkata.
Day 5
KOLKATTA - GANGASAGAR
Early morning at 4:30 AM, depart from Kolkata for a full-day excursion to Gangasagar. Travel by road to Harwood Point (approximately 4 hours). From Harwood Point, cross the Muriganga River by local ferry to Kachuberia. Upon arrival, continue by Sumo or a similar vehicle to Gangasagar, followed by a short walk to the pilgrimage site. Visit the sacred confluence of the Ganga River and the Bay of Bengal, take a holy dip, and seek blessings at the revered Kapil Muni Temple. Enjoy a simple lunch at a local dhaba. Later, return via the same route to Kolkata. Overnight stay at Kolkata.
Day 6
KOLKATTA LOCAL & DEPARTURE
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed for local sightseeing. Visit the iconic Victoria Memorial, the serene Belur Math, and the famous Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Later, transfer to Kolkata Airport for your departure. Drop at the airport by 6:00 PM for your onward journey by flight or train (at your own cost). Tour Ends with Cherished Memories. Note: Dinner is not included on the last day.
